Development of Milt Cryopreservation Protocol for Economically Important Minor Carp Cirrhinus reba (Hamilton, 1822)

Background: Reba carp is one of the promising candidates for species diversification in fresh-water aquaculture. It available all major rivers India. Cryopreserved milt will be useful genetic exchange between remotely located farms. For using cryomilt as a tool exchange, specific cryopreservation protocol required. Methods: Milt was cryopreserved three extenders (7,7B and 9C) two cryoprotectants (DMSO methanol) evaluated with fresh control. 1:6 dilution French medium straws 0.5 ml. The feasibility selected extender cryoprotectant combinations assessed by ability sperm to fertilize C. reba eggs hatching percentage. Fertilized were incubated L bowl flow-through incubation system. Analysis done both separately combinedly well. Result: Better percentage obtained system treatments. In combined analysis 7 10% DMSO gave significantly higher rate (44.5%) (75%) comparison performance noticed (50.09%) compared (39.1%) same treatment. Thus, it can concluded that (V/V) suitable retain quality having optimal motility, high fertility close values
